I grew up in Central California in a Christian family that regularly attended church and even sent my brothers and I to a Christian school. However, despite this upbringing, God seemed to me an angry supernatural being that simply put up with me. It wasn't until my junior year of college at Cal Poly Pomona (in Southern California) that I truly came to believe in Jesus Christ. During this time, I worked and lived a secluded life. But fortunately, my roommate hosted a Bible study in my apartment. The Bible study leader kept loving me and inviting me in. Over the course of a couple months, the truth of God's contra-conditional love and acceptance of me in Christ Jesus radically transformed my life. At this point, I also began to realize that all of life is ultimately about our glorious God, which completely transformed me.
In 2014 I joined Sunbury City Church after 7 years of college and local church ministry both stateside and around the world. For the past 9 years I have committed myself to seeing people trained and sent out to plant and revitalize churches. My main responsibilities are preaching, vision, and training leaders. To this end, in 2020, I launched an organization called 4th Level, focused on equipping and coaching church leaders. Previously I served with a local pastors collective, gathering and encouraging pastors to remain faithful in ministry, as well as served our community by leading a local neighborhood group. Currently, I serve as the Fire Chaplain of the Sunbury Fire Department, a cohort leader of rural pastors from across the US, and am pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in church planting. After a few seconds with me you will hear of my love for my family, the Los Angeles Dodgers, bacon cheeseburgers, books, and seeing Jesus Christ praised by all people. I am married to Alecia and have 2 wonderful kids - Donovan and Raymond.
Sunbury City Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who love God, live the gospel, embrace our community, and plant movements.
